About the Department

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is established in 2002.Over a period of 14 years the department has been a hive of academic activity and is instrumental in creating successful careers for many students. Consistent growth was witnessed in development and consequently the Department was accredited by NBA in 2009, and applied for re-accreditation which is under process.

Very committed and experienced faculty lead the student development activities supported by an active team of well qualified faculty. The infrastructure and facilities are world class and the students have access to the latest technologies and equipment.

The environment of the Department encourages the students to think innovatively and develop technological solutions to the problems in the society. Being known as the mother of all engineering courses EEE offers a wide range of career choices in core technologies to software industry. EEE-Hod

Dr. R. SOMANATHAM B.E, M.Tech (IDC), Ph.D, FIE.

Dr.R.Somanatham is Professor and Head of Department of EEE. He obtained B.E., M.Tech. and Ph.D. from University College of Engineering, Osmania University. He is a recipient of gold medal in P.G program. He is having 31 years of teaching experience, 20 years of R&D experience. He has organized and attended various workshops and conferences at National and International levels. He served in various capacities as Chairman BOS of UCE(A), Chairman BOS of University affiliated colleges, HOD, Vice-principal UCE(A), O.U. He is having publications in National and International journals. He actively participated in the accreditation work of the department in the year 1996. He has guided many P.G projects. He was Regional coordinator for EAMCET and ECET for two consecutive years. He acted as chief superintendent for various competitive exams held at University college of Engineering, O.U. He also delivered expert lectures to the working engineers of APSEB, BHEL and IRISET. Also delivered expert lectures at Advanced Training Institute and IETE. He was instrumental in setting up Solid State Drives lab in Dept of EE with TEQUIP grant.

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized “Aagama2k15” technical fest, paper presentation, project presentation,poster presentation, circuit tricker and circuit designing.

The technical fest aims at bringing out ideas new talents in the fields of engineering & technology it hosts a variety of events ranging from intellectual activities to gaming competencies. This program will provide a synergistic approach to students to demonstrate their technical, imaginative & analytical skills.
This technical fest which is an annual feature is expected to create a platform for stimulating technical interaction, interpersonal efficacy and an organizing ability for the evolving technologists.

The various events like Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Project Presentation, Technical Quiz, Cross Word Puzzle, Device Cracking, and Circuit Designing. The events are a huge success. We have received participants from different colleges enrolled themselves in various events.
