Anurag University is in Venkatapur, on the Ghatkesar side of east Hyderabad, about twenty minutes east of Uppal on the Warangal Highway. If you're weighing up where to study engineering, location quietly decides a lot your daily commute, what you'll pay to live, and how easily you can reach an internship in the city. This page is about what the campus and the area are actually like, so you can judge whether it fits.
Where it is
The campus sits in the Medchal–Malkajgiri district, past Uppal and ECIL as you head east. The belt around it Ghatkesar, Pocharam, Narapally has built up fast along Hyderabad's education and IT corridor, so it's calmer than the centre of the city without being cut off from it.
Getting in and out
Most students settle into one of three routines. The University runs its own bus network across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which is how the majority of day scholars commute. Students coming from the east and north usually route through Uppal. And the Outer Ring Road is close enough that the airport and the Gachibowli–Madhapur IT belt are a straightforward drive once interview season starts.
The campus
At over 100 acres, it has more room than most engineering campuses this close to a city which is what makes space for the separate academic blocks, the sports grounds, the men's and women's hostels, and the labs the University keeps adding as programmes grow.
Living here
There are separate on-campus hostels for men and women, with mess, laundry and Wi-Fi. Students who prefer to live off campus find rents around Ghatkesar and Narapally noticeably lower than in Gachibowli or Kondapur one of the real, unglamorous advantages of studying on this side of the city.
A few things students ask
How do I get to campus from Uppal or Secunderabad?
