Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering is a Core branch of engineering which is an evergreen branch. It is concerned with cost effective and environmentally friendly processes that convert raw materials or chemicals into useful valuable forms. It essentially deals with the engineering of chemicals to identify and solve technical glitches. Chemical Industry is expanding and with this expansion, new job opportunities are also being generated.

A Chemical Engineer translate processes developed in the lab into practical applications for the commercial production of products and then work to maintain and improve those processes. The main role of a chemical engineer is to design and troubleshoot the processes in an industry. They are most often employed by large-scale manufacturing plants to maximize productivity and product quality while minimizing costs. The aerospace, automotive, biomedical, electronic, environmental, medical, military and many other industries seek the skills of chemical engineers in order to help develop and improve their technical products, conducting research to improve manufacturing processes, incorporating safety procedures while working with dangerous chemicals.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Anurag University was established in the year 2004. The department is determined to nurture new talent and create leaders and entrepreneurs who can bring high-level value addition to the chemical industry and the nation at large. The mission is to drive excellence in Chemical Engineering Education and training thereby leading to the creation of a common platform for connecting academia and industry in the exchange of knowledge for mutual benefit. Since its inception, the Department has grown from leaps and is today one of the prestigious departments. Recognizing the development, accredited by NBA under Tier-I in 2015, reaccredited in November 2018 and received an extension till 2022.

 Our professional bodies are IIChE, ISTE, IAEng and IEI. The rich academic expertise is complemented by a world-class infrastructure with 9 fully equipped laboratories and the latest ICT technologies support the learning process. With its interdisciplinary flavors, along with its diversified structure, the department is dedicated to build strong careers for students.
