Biography

Dr. R. Venkat Reddy is an eminent Professor. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Marathwada University, Maharastra State in 1989, Master of Technology (Production Engineering) from JNTUH Hyderabad in 2001 and Doctorate of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from prestigious Osmania University, Hyderabad, in 2013. His initial career started in Oil and Gas exploration industry, Oil Country Tabular Limited served in various positions for 7 years, the highest position is Plant Engineer (Production) and then moved to academics in 1999. He has 20 years of academic experience, 10 years as a Professor& Head of the Department in various reputed institutions. He is a good administrator. He is the most dynamic and inspiring faculty in the department. He encourages students to participate many academic and extracurricular activities like conferences, workshops, professional chapter society activities. He has guided more than 60 students in under graduate level, 10 students in post graduate level and one presently guiding research scholar under JNTUH, Hyderabad. He organized and attended National, International conferences, workshops and FDP’s. He has given more than 25 guest lectures in reputed Engineering colleges. He has organized 2 Weeks FDP, sanctioned from AICTE as a Program Coordinator. He is also chairman of Board of Studies in Department. He is Expertise in accreditation process of various boards and councils like NBA and NAAC etc. He is also an Editorial/ Reviewer/ Technical Board Member in IJCESR. He is a reviewer in BEIESP, International Journal (IJEAT, IJSCE, IJRTE, IJITEE, IJIMSE, IJIES, IJAENT, IJBSAC,IJMH). He is also a life member of ISTE, IIPE, Red Cross. He is also supervisor in JNTUH, Hyderabad and Visvesvaraya Technological University- Belgaum, Karnataka. He is expertise in establishing of laboratories. His major research areas are metal forming and Metal Cutting.

Research Interests

R. Venkat Reddy’s research interests revolve around metal forming, Metal Cutting, Manufacturing Automation & Robotics, and Additive Manufacturing Technologies. It comprises affecting of various parameters like wrinkling and fracture defects in deep drawing components. The research work mainly involves optimizing and eliminating the wrinkling and fracture defects in deep drawing cylindrical cups under various blank holding forces, punch forces and boundary conditions using LS-DYNA metal forming software.

R.Venkat Reddy has taught under graduate level subjects like Engineering Drawing, Manufacturing Technology, Machine Tools, Production Planning & Control, Production Drawing, Unconventional Machining Process, Machine Drawing, CAD/CAM, Robotics and post graduate level subjects like Advanced Casting Techniques, Advanced Welding Techniques and Design of Manufacturing Assembly
