Anurag University, established in an expansive 55 acre campus, was launched today by Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister for Education, Smt. Chitra Ramachandran IAS, Principal Secretary, Education, B.V.R Mohan Reddy, Executive Chairman, Cyient, Dr. U.B. Desai, Chancellor, Dr. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Syeda Sameen Fatima, Registrar of Anurag University, in the presence of Chairman, Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLC and Smt. Neelima, CEO of Anurag University at Venkatapur, Ghatkesar Mandal, Hyderabad

The Gayathri Educational and Cultural Trust (GECT) was founded in 1990 and has been running educational institutions like Lalitha Degree & PG College, Lalitha College of Pharmacy and “CVSR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING”. The three colleges were integrated into “ANURAG GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS (AGI)” in 2010. Through an ordinance from the Government of Telangana, the Anurag Group of Institutions transformed into “ANURAG UNIVERSITY” in 2020.

On the occasion, Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana said that the long cherished dreams and aspirations of the people of Telangana can turn into reality only with quality education and wished that Anurag University to evolve into one of the best universities in our country. Sri K.T. Rama Rao said that the new courses should be started to meet the industry requirements and expressed confidence that the team at Anurag will succeed in making education a qualitative and market needed.

The Minister for Education, Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy said that KCR’s vision of making education in Telangana qualitative and accessible to all. At School level, the Government is concentrating in more residential system and in higher education quality & benchmarking are necessary for any institution to compete at International level. She further wished that new courses will be started to meet the market demand.

Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Chairman, Anurag University in his address told that the university has got flexibility in starting new courses in emerging areas, in designing the syllabi, in having multi disciplinary education system. He assured all the stakeholders for surpassing benchmark in teaching, learning & research. He also said that the students of AGI, has got 98% placements and AGI has got accredited by NBA, NAAC and NIRF. Today, it is also ranked 23rd in India, 5th in Telangana by Times of India.

Smt. Chitra Ramachandran told that it is a milestone in higher education and wished that the Anurag University will achieve International standards and offer world class education to ignite young minds and contribute to nation building. Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy told that there is a need for multidisciplinary courses, quality faculty and digital transformation in education and also said that it is necessary to convert Quarantine to Quaranteam of students in this epidemic. Dr. U.B. Desai, Chancellor, Dr. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor of Anurag University are also addressed the gathering.
