Data Science Faculty Publish Brain MRI Segmentation Research

Anurag University is pleased to recognise the collaborative research achievement of Dr. V. Biksham and Mr. Salar Mohammad, Assistant Professors in the Department of Data Science, on the publication of their article 'Improving Brain MRI Segmentation of Multiple Sclerosis Using an Advanced CNN Approach' in the International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining, indexed in Scopus, ESCI, DBLP, and ACM. Multiple sclerosis is a complex neurological condition whose diagnosis and monitoring depend heavily on accurate analysis of brain MRI scans.
Manual segmentation of lesions is time-consuming and prone to variability, making automated, reliable methods highly valuable. By applying an advanced Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) approach, the authors aim to improve the precision of brain MRI segmentation, supporting more consistent and efficient identification of disease-related changes. Research at the intersection of deep learning and medical imaging holds real potential to assist clinicians and enhance patient care.
This publication reflects Anurag University's commitment to impactful, interdisciplinary research that connects data science with healthcare. The university congratulates Dr. Biksham and Mr. Mohammad on this meaningful contribution to medical image analysis and celebrates their dedication to applying advanced computational techniques to problems that matter.
