Dr. Rajesh Thumma Publishes IoT Safety Paper in IEEE Sensors Journal

Anurag University proudly highlights the research achievement of Dr. Rajesh Thumma, Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, on the publication of his paper 'IoT-Enabled Ultrasonic Sensing and Bidirectional Alert System for Blind-Curve Accident Prevention' in the prestigious IEEE Sensors Journal, a Q1 publication with an H-index of 172 and an Impact Factor of 4.5.
The research tackles a critical real-world safety problem: accidents at blind curves, where limited visibility frequently leads to collisions on hilly and winding roads. By combining Internet of Things connectivity with ultrasonic sensing and a bidirectional alert system, the proposed solution can detect oncoming vehicles and warn drivers approaching from both directions, offering a practical, deployable approach to accident prevention. Publishing in a journal of the IEEE Sensors Journal's standing reflects the strong technical merit and societal relevance of the work.
This accomplishment underscores Anurag University's commitment to research that addresses tangible challenges and improves everyday safety. The university congratulates Dr. Thumma on this impactful contribution and celebrates the way his work demonstrates how thoughtful engineering and emerging technologies can come together to protect lives and serve the community.
