Mechanical Engineering Faculty Publish Epoxy Composites Study

Anurag University proudly announces a collaborative research achievement by faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering: Dr. Pratibha Dharmavarapu, Dr. C. Sravanthi, and Mrs. A. Neeraja. Their paper, 'Property Assessment of Epoxy Composites Containing KOH-Treated Chitin and Pineapple Fibre Reinforcement,' has been published in Polymer Bulletin, a Q2, SCI-indexed journal with an H-index of 82 and an Impact Factor of 4.1.
The study explores the use of natural, bio-derived reinforcements, chitin and pineapple fibre, treated with potassium hydroxide to enhance their compatibility within epoxy composites. This line of research is increasingly important as industries seek sustainable, lightweight, and high-performance materials that reduce reliance on synthetic reinforcements. By assessing the properties of these eco-friendly composites, the team contributes valuable knowledge toward greener material engineering. Publication in a reputed international journal reflects the quality and relevance of their collaborative work.
This achievement showcases Anurag University's commitment to research that aligns innovation with sustainability, and the strength of teamwork among its engineering faculty. The university congratulates Dr. Dharmavarapu, Dr. Sravanthi, and Mrs. Neeraja on this impactful contribution to sustainable composite materials research and celebrates their shared dedication to advancing the field.
