Anurag University NSS Volunteers Participate in HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign

Hyderabad, 12 August 2026: The NSS Cell of Anurag University, under the leadership of Dr. C. Mallesh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, participated in the Intensified Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign on HIV/AIDS Awareness organized by the Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TGSACS) at HMDA Grounds, near Prasads Multiplex, Hyderabad. Dr. J. Rajendra Kumar, Programme Officer, NSS Cell, along with 60 NSS volunteers from Anurag University, actively participated in the campaign and supported the awareness initiative focused on HIV/AIDS prevention, HIV testing, healthy lifestyles, and responsible social behaviour.
The programme was graced by Sri PONNAM PRABHAKAR, Hon’ble Transport Minister, Government of Telangana; Sri Saida Nayak, State Regional Director, NSS; renowned actor Sri Tanikella Bharani, and other dignitaries. The campaign emphasized the importance of creating awareness among youth, preventing HIV/AIDS, reducing stigma and discrimination, and encouraging responsible health practices. The active participation of NSS volunteers provided students with a meaningful platform to contribute to public awareness and community welfare.
The involvement of Anurag University NSS volunteers reflects the University's commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and youth-led initiatives, in keeping with the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.” The programme also strengthened students' understanding of public health concerns and encouraged them to embrace their role as responsible citizens contributing towards a healthier, more informed, and inclusive society.
