About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2009. The development and the growth were very progressive and within a short period of time the department earned the reputation of being one of the best for Civil Engineering education. The Department is accredited by NBA in 2018, and re-accredited in 2022 which is valid till 2025.
The Department of Civil Engineering at Anurag University provides a full education within the integrated fields of Civil Engineering. The courses span from introductory classes on bachelor level to advanced courses on master level. The Department has well experienced and dedicated faculty with ten doctorates from eminent institute like IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s and other reputed Universities, and several others pursuing their Ph.D. The unique combination of faculty members with expertise in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Technology and Management and good laboratory facilities brings an interdisciplinary research culture in the department. The Department is enriched with good supporting staff and library with good number of books relevant to the programs, The department has good track record of campus placement and internships, excellent laboratories with latest software’s and state of Art equipment, class rooms with multimedia projection, 24/7 Wi-Fi Facilities.

HOD
Dr. B. Narender
HOD – Civil Engineering department, Anurag University
Dr. Bodige Narender is an Associate Professor in the Anurag University and joined in the year 2016. He finished his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH), India. Prior to joining Anurag University (formerly Anurag group of Institutions), he was an Assistant Professor at Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE) and Lecturer in JB Institute of Engineering and Technology (JBIET), Hyderabad. Dr B. Narender worked as research fellow in IIITH and involved National and International Project in year 2011 to 2013 such as DISANET (JICA-JST) for set of building vibration sensor in Chandigarh city and Vulnerability Assessment of Nanded City and Himachal Pradesh. He also involved consultancy work for the Ramappa temple to study effect of Near Site Tunnel Blasts of Devadula Project in the year 2011 and Third-Party Quality Control of GHMC (2018 to 2021). He published thirty-three papers in various National and International conference and journals.

Dr. K.R.C. Reddy
Professor – Civil Engineering department, Anurag University
Dr. K. R. C. Reddy is presently working as Professor in the Department Civil Engineering, Anurag University, Hyderabad. He did his B.Tech. from KITS, Warangal, affiliated in Kakatiya University, Warangal, did his M.Tech. in Applied Mechanics from IIT-Delhi, and Ph.D. in the field of Structural Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur. As a faculty of Civil Engineering, he has worked with KITS Ramtek in Maharashtra for about 25 years from September 1989 to February 2014. Before joining KITS Ramtek he had 4 years of field experience in the Construction of the Concrete Structures at Hyderabad. As a professor he served ‘Anurag group of Institutions’ from February 2014 to November 2017 and also ‘Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology’ from November 2017 to July 2020. On 30th July 2020 he has joined the ‘Anurag University’ as a professor. Dr. Reddy’s fields of interest are finite element method, wind engineering, chimneys, structural optimization, and fiber reinforcement concrete.

Dr. G. Venkat Rao is a Professor in the Department Civil Engineering, Anurag University, Hyderabad. He had finished M.E & Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, A.P, India. He worked as a head of the department of Civil Engineering and chairman board of studies for 8 years at GMRIT and VIIT. He worked as Principal at Gokul Institute of information Technology for 1 year. He supervised twelve Master degree Thesis and 30 Under graduate Projects. He is a member of Institute of Engineers (IEI) and Associate member at Andhra Pradesh Academe of Science (APAS). He organized AICTE Sponsor, two weeks Faculty Development program (FDP) on “coastal zone problems and their remedies” in the year 2010. He completed around 80 lakhs worth of government funded research projects.
